San Diego Aviators vs Vegas Rollers - World TeamTennis Preview and Prediction

With professional tennis yet to resume due to the pandemic, the World TeamTennis has been calling the right shots attracting a large number of star players.

Rules such as no-ad scoring, nine-point tiebreaker to decide the winner of a set, on-court coaching and permitting the use of substitutes have made it eye-catching to the fans.

The San Diego Aviators take on the Vegas Rollers tonight. The Aviators have not set the ground running with their dismal record of one win and three losses so far. On the other hand, the Rollers are in great form with three wins and two losses.

With a women's doubles match all set to kick-start the clash, Coco Vandeweghe and Nicole Melichar would look to pull up their socks after their loss in the previous encounter against Orlando Storm. However, they would have their task cut-out against a formidable pair in Monica Puig and Kristie Ahn who thrashed the Springfield Lasers yesterday.

The Rollers would clinch the men's doubles comfortably as 16-time grand slam champions, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan square off against the rookie pair, Ryan Harrison and Jonny O'Mara.

The Aviators have an edge in the women's singles as they can field either of the two in-form players in Christina McHale or Vandeweghe against the out-of-form 2016 Olympics gold-medalist Puig. Rollers would look to take a gamble by fielding Asia Muhammad instead.

The men's singles would see an exciting all-American clash between the big-serving Sam Querrey and the hard-hitting Ryan Harrison.

The final result could be decided by the outcome of the mixed doubles clash. It would be a thrilling match between a battle of equals. The Rollers have experimented by playing both the Bryans alongside Puig only to lose their last two matches. The Aviators would have no worries in fielding the in-form Harrison and Vandeweghe who played a crucial role in their win against Orlando Storm.

A win for the Rollers would take them closer to the top of the table while the Aviators would look to fight hard to stay alive in the competition.

Prediction -  Vegas Rollers to win
