West Ham United manager eyes a reunion with this 26 year old Chelsea midfielder
David Moyes is planning to reunite with Ross Barkley at West Ham United and is looking to use the upcoming European Championship 2020 to lure the midfielder he formerly managed at Everton.
The 26-year-old Chelsea midfielder came through the ranks of Everton youth setup during Moyes' time at the Merseyside club and the Scotsman is looking forward to a reunion with the English international in East London.
Barkley has been pretty sparsely used at Chelsea and there have been talks regarding his potential exit from Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea have made it known they will not part ways with the midfielder at any cost as he is still in their plans.
However, the player knows that he needs to be playing more if he wants to secure his spot in Gareth Southgate's squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 which takes place this summer.
And, Moyes hopes to lure the 26-year-old flamboyant midfielder to London Stadium promising him regular playing time to help the player make a strong case for himself to Southgate.
Barkley will face fierce competition from the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Maddison, Mason Mount, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harry Winks, Declan Rice, Fabian Delph and Jack Grealish for a spot in Gareth Southagte's midfield.
Barkley has a strong competition for places at Chelsea from the likes of Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ngolo Kante, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek and his injury problems have not helped him either.
However, the Three Lions midfielder hopeful vowed to get back in Frank Lampard's good books after being troubled with a few off-the-field issues this season. Frank Lampard has recently praised the player and reiterated that he is a big part of his plans at the club.
Moyes is still keen to try his luck with the Englishman but has already thought of an alternative in 23-year-old Franck Kessie who is having a difficult time at Milan.
