Brendan Rodgers puts James Maddison rumors to bed

Brendan Rodgers has put all the rumors surrounding James Maddison to bed as he has made it clear that none of the major Leicester City players are leaving the club this winter.

There were rumors that Manchester United was planning to throw a lucrative offer to Leicester in their bid to land Maddison at Old Trafford. But, it doesn’t seem to be a possibility anymore.

Apart from Maddison, there were a couple of other Leicester players who were also on the radar of big European clubs.

According to Rodgers, if a Leicester player goes during the January window, it will only happen if the club wants him to go. There won’t be any case of a player leaving against the club’s wishes and the club doesn’t wish any of its stars to be leaving in January.

“Nobody will leave here that we don't want to go. I think we've had a couple of inquiries in terms of loans and for some of our younger players. But the players that are always talked about and mentioned, there will be nobody going” Rodgers told the reporters.

Rodgers has also hinted that the Foxes are not up for too many purchases in the transfer market for themselves as the squad that they have got at their disposal is good enough to get them through the season.

The Leicester boss reckons they would need more depth in their squad if they have to play in Europe in the 2020-21 season which is not certain at this stage.

Although Leicester is second in the Premier League standings at the moment, there is still a long way to go in the season.

With teams like Arsenal and Chelsea gaining momentum, it might be tough for the Foxes to maintain their position in top four till the end of the season.
