Chelsea target to be allowed to leave in the summer

Chelsea have been put on red alert with French side Olympique Lyonnis reportedly looking to cash in on their in-demand striker Moussa Dembele in the summer.

It is now a public knowledge that the Blues are huge admirers of the 23-year-old. The West London side were even believed to have had a £33.6million offer turned down in January.

Even though Chelsea have been tracking several other strikers across Europe, it is believed that Frank Lampard's priority target remains the former Celtic striker.

And, it will be music to Lampard's ears that Lyon are prepared to listen to offers for their much coveted Frenchman in the summer.

According to reports in France, Lyon want to offload the forward, regardless of whether or not they qualify for the Champions League.

The reports also state that Rudi Garcia's side have already started their search for players who could replace the former Fulham striker.

It is because Lyon reckon that they will not be able to hold on to their priced asset for too long and want to cash in on him now that they can get a pretty big amount for the highly-rated number nine.

It is believed that the in-demand forward could cost any potential suitor in the region of £60million and Chelsea are believed to be leading the race.

Apart from the Blues, Manchester United are also understood to be tracking the Les Blues international. The Red Devils are long admirers of the Frenchman and could compete with their rivals for the signature of the powerful striker.

Both the clubs are desperately looking for a new striker with their attack lacking both quality and depth.

Chelsea are destined to Olivier Giroud in the summer and could lose Michy Batshuayi as well which will leave them with only Tammy Abraham up front.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has only Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as his options up front.

And with Rashford set to miss a couple of months with injury, they had to sign former Watford striker Odion Ighalo on loan from China for the rest of the season.

Dembele, who has 19 goals and six assists in 35 games this season, would be a welcome addition to both sides.
