Juventus looking to sell out-of-favour midfielder after just one season

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be shipped away from Juventus this summer after just one season in Italy.

The midfielder joined the Serie A champions on a free transfer last summer after 11 long years at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite penning a contract at the Turin club until 2023, the Welshman has certainly not been able to make much of an impression at the Juventus Stadium.

Maurizio Sarri does not seem to rate the 29-year-old and could be set to offload him in the summer.

According to Calciomercato, via the paper edition of Tuttosport, he could reportedly be on his way out of the club come the end of the campaign.

The Welsh midfielder has been restricted to just 18 appearances, mostly from the bench. Ramsey managed to find the back of the net just twice during an injury-hit maiden season.

Juventus could decide to try and cash in on the Wales international as he has not managed to fulfil the expectations they had from him.

Having cost the club nothing, they know they could easily make a huge profit on Ramsey once the window re-opens.

But having sold Emre Can last month, they will need to bring in midfield reinforcements before sanctioning a move for the former Cardiff City midfielder.

Ramsey came off the bench in Juventus' shock 2-1 defeat to Verona on Saturday.

That result left them three points clear of Inter in top spot, but they could be overtaken should the Nerazzurri manage to beat rivals AC Milan in the Milan derby.

If Juventus do want to offload Ramsey, they should not find it too hard to find suitors for him.

Clubs across England should be open to the idea of signing the midfielder. A comeback to Arsenal could well be on the cards with the Gunners struggling in midfield.
