Lautaro Martinez speaks about rumours linking him to Manchester United

Internazionale is sitting on the top of the table thanks to the form of their forwards Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. The 22-year-old Argentine international has been in incredible form throughout the season. Martinez has scored nine goals in the Serie A and five goals in the Champions League for Inter this season.

The Argentine's form has garnered attention from Europe's elite including the eyes of Manchester United. While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's forwards have done well in this season, the Red Devils lack depth, and they are yet to replace Romelu Lukaku.

The Mirror has linked Martinez, rated at around 80 million pounds, with a move to Manchester United. The reports have suggested that Martinez can be a part of the swap deal involving unsettled Paul Pogba.

The Argentine forward has come out to cool the speculation regarding his departure, stressing the point that he is happy with life at San Siro. He said that his goal is to work hard for the benefit of the club.

“I am doing my best at Inter. I only focus on giving my all on the pitch,” Martinez told Sky Sport Italia, as translated by the Daily Mirror. "I am happy at Inter. I try to work hard and stay focused. That’s my goal with this club.”

Manchester United was also linked to Erling Haaland before he joined Borussia Dortmund. The Red Devils have also been linked with PSG's Edinson Cavani, who might be available in the summer.

Solskjaer said that the club needs to focus on strengthening themselves to secure a strong finish to the season.

“We have got a few months left of the season and we can’t weaken ourselves. We have got to strengthen ourselves if any movement is going to happen,” Ole said.
