Liverpool tipped to sign RB Leipzig star Timo Werner

The Reds have been reported to make a move for the Germany International and are set to trigger the player's 60 million Euro release clause.

The 23-year old has registered 27 goals and 8 assists this season in 40 outings for RB Leipzig. This has prompted Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to sign the player and bolster their already superior attack.

After 29 years ,The Merseyside are on their way to win the Premier League this season as they have established themselves firmly on top of the table. Werner has already expressed his wish to play in England and this move might be a boon for him

He is valued at around 50 Million Euros which the Reds are ready to pay . Werner can play anywhere up in the front and his signing will provide competition to the star trio of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

According to reports around Germany, it is believed that Bayern Munich have expressed their interest to sign Firmino for 70 million Euros

However the Reds will not let loose their main man at any cost as they look to stretch their period of dominance.

Klopp has been urged to bring in his compatriot by all means possible and the Liverpool fanfare seem to like the player due to his style of play that would suit the club's current tactical philosophy

Regarding the transfer rumors, RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff stated in an interview to Transfermarket that,

‘We hear these reports all the time,’

‘Someone makes something up, and everyone else copies it. Werner is happy here and wants to play the rest of the season.’

Liverpool haven't been much active in the market for the past three sessions and everyone expects Klopp to make atleast one potential signing in the upcoming window

Speaking on Liverpool's interest, Werner himself stated that," When you score 20 goals as a 23-year-old in a season then, of course, there is interest. That’s clear."We are going into many important games. That’s what I want to focus on now. I can still contemplate my future later.

‘What do you say if a club comes knocking, a club which is one of the favorites to win the Champions League and makes an incredible offer? Most likely every player would think about it.

‘I can generally imagine playing abroad one day, although I don’t have any specific club where I want to be. I am open for everything. ‘I was in America for a holiday recently and English football was on all the time. That’s an exclamation mark for the Premier League. ‘But there are also big, famous clubs and it would certainly be fun playing there.’

Chelsea are also credited with an interest in Werner but Liverpool will look to hold on in getting the player.
