Paul Ince urges Manchester United to sign this veteran goal machine

The former England midfielder Paul Ince doesn’t think that Manchester United can rely on Anthony Martial to get them as many goals as Marcus Rashford was getting before he injured himself playing in the FA Cup game against Wolves.

Talking about the chance that Martial missed in the game against Liverpool, Ince said if Rashford was in the exact same position in the box, he would have found the back of the net.

Edinson Cavani is one of the foreign strikers United has been linked to in recent times, but if they have to buy Cavani, they will have to pay the transfer fees as Paris Saint-Germain are not willing to let the veteran go on a loan deal.

Given Cavani’s age, United are a bit reluctant to go for a permanent contract, but Ince reckons the Red Devils are not in a position where they can afford to pick and choose.

It has been reported that Cavani himself is also a bit reluctant to come to Old Trafford given the fact that United are not guaranteed to play Champions League football next season.

United have been beaten twice in two games since Rashford’s injury. While the defeat against Liverpool was somewhat expected, United were the favorites playing against Burnley at home. But, they lost that game as well, by 2-0.

Martial was not at the top of his game against Burnley either, and Ince is not convinced with the Frenchman’s form at all.

“We saw the sitter that Anthony Martial missed against Liverpool. He should be burying that. If that had fell to Rashford, I’m confident that would’ve been a goal. With Rashford out, you can’t trust that Martial will make up those goals.” Ince was quoted as saying by Paddy Power.

“If United can get hold of Cavani, then they should go for it. He is on the wrong side of 30 which is a bit worrying, but I’m not sure United are in the place to be picky at the moment.” Ince added.
