Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID-19
Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19 as confirmed by the Portugal national team.
Ronaldo has left the squad and is currently isolating after he was tested positive.
The Portuguese skipper last featured in the UEFA Nations League game against France and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The forward was going to feature in an important game against Sweden but now he has been released by the national side to isolate.
CR7 is doing well and has shown no symptoms yet. Currently, he is the only Portuguese player to have tested positive.
Concerns may arise in the France squad too as Ronaldo was seen having a good time with several French players, especially Kylian Mbappe who considers Ronaldo his idol.
Juventus players Blaise Matuidi, Paulo Dybala and Daniele Rugani had tested positive too when the coronavirus was at its peak.
Coronavirus has affected every corner and every league in the world, with Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara and Manchester City players Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte testing positive a few weeks ago.
Several high-profile players contracted the virus as very few people have been getting away with it recently.
Neymar along with his several PSG team-mates had also tested positive just after featuring in the Champions League final.
There are chances that some other Portugal players test positive too. However, proper testing will be done before they get ready for the game against Sweden in order to avoid the spreading of the virus.
Ronaldo will be out of action for a while and that means he will also miss some games for Juventus in the Serie A.
The former Real Madrid man will be hoping to get back onto the pitch to feature in the Champions League as the Old Lady play against play Dynamo Kyiv on October 20.
He may be a doubt for this game too but hopefully he will be 100% to face Barcelona on October 29, a game where he will be against his fierce rival Lionel Messi again.
This game has already been the highlight for football supporters around the world and everyone will hope that CR7 will be all-ready and prepared for the game.
