Rafael Nadal eyes second career treble
Not since 2010, has the four-time champion won three Grand Slam titles in a single year. Back in 2010, he won the French Open followed by his second Wimbledon title, and then finally won the US Open to complete a Career-Slam.
2022 will also represent a similar stance for him as eyes another treble. Had he won the Wimbledon Championships, he would have stood for an annual Grand Slam, like Novak Djokovic in 2021.
Seeded second for the tournament, the former World No.1 will be determined to make the most of the occasion and secure his fifth US Open title. If he does succeed it will also be his third Grand Slam of the year.
Also if Rafael Nadal secures the US Open, he will equal Serena Williams' tally of 23 singles Grand Slam titles, one behind the all-time record of Margret Court.
