Alexander Zverev vs Corentin Moutet: Ultimate Tennis Showdown 2 Preview and Prediction

After pulling off a thriller in his debut match at UTS, Alexander Zverev will take on Corentin Moutet in the first semifinal tonight.

The World number 7 kick-started his campaign with a bang winning the first two quarters against Felix Auger-Aliassime. However, the Canadian fought back clinching the third quarter.

Zverev was a few points away from clinching the match when he stormed to an 8-0 lead in the fourth quarter. However, Felix used his serve and volley cards to perfection clinching 10 points in a row to win it 14-11.

With two quarters apiece, it was down to sudden death to decide the winner and the German came out on top saving a match point to emerge victorious.

On the other hand, Moutet proved to be good for his compatriot, Benoit Paire. In a match dominated by extreme heat, Paire was forced to retire hurt in the third quarter.

Moutet was in full control throughout the match using the two-points card at the right moments. Despite not having a big-serve, the Frenchman effectively used his low slices and clever drop shots to put Paire in trouble.

With Richard Gasquet having won his match against Feliciano Lopez to book his spot in the final four, Zverev had all the freedom to choose the World number 75 as his opponent.

Having pulled off a fabulous win over veteran, Fernando Verdasco and losing a thriller to Dustin Brown, Moutet has made rapid strides in UTS. However, the youngster must reduce his count of unforced errors and avoid making double faults in the crucial moments. With little room for error in the fast format, Moutet has to hit winners consistently and use the various cards at disposal to upset Sascha's rhythm.

Head to Head Record

The two players have never met each other on the ATP tour before. However, with their sizzling ground-strokes, both Zverev and Moutet would make it an exciting match.

Prediction - Alexander Zverev to win in four quarters
