Star keeper wants a move to Chelsea

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana has his heart set on replacing out of favour Kepa Arrizabalaga at Chelsea, according to reports in England.

The Cameroon international, 23, has been strongly linked with the Blues. He is also being monitored by Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona but it is believed that Onana favours a move to Stamford Bridge.

As per reports, PSG sporting director Leonardo was told he had “no chance” of signing Onana, who has decided he wants to head to Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard dropped his number one, Kepa, against Leicester City last weekend following a number of underwhelming performances.

The Spaniard has not been guilty of many high-profile errors but has not managed to justify his status as the world’s most expensive goalkeeper either.

Lampard has already made up his mind that he wants a new number one next summer and Onana has been named as one of the targets.

Despite costing £71.6 million, Kepa has managed to save only 56 percent shots he has faced this season after he managed 68 percent in the last campaign.

The Spaniard is however keen to work his way back to Lampard's plans as he feels furious and let down by his fellow defenders.

The Blues have the rest of the season to decide if they should stick with their man or go for another expensive signing. But, Onana being keen on a move to West London certainly will be music to Lampard and the Chelsea management's ears.

According to reports, goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon and performance advisor Petr Cech will assist Lampard in settling Kepa’s future. Barcelona academy product Onana would offer a quality option between the sticks and he comes with a bundle of experience.

Onana is valued at over £35 million by the Dutch giants which is not really too much in today's market.
Kepa's deputy Willy Caballero failed to impress against the Foxes and Lampard may decide to bring the most expensive keeper in the world back in to face Manchester United next Monday.
