Australia is on the back foot once again in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Despite bowling out India for 150 in the first inning of Perth Test, the host team succumbed to Jasprit Bumrah's astonishing spell. Ahead of the second Test, the Aussies announced their playing XI with speedster Scott Boland  replacing Josh Hazlewood in the playing XI. Hazlewood suffered a side strain and was unavailable for selection. Meanwhile, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh who suffered a back stiffness during the opening Test in Perth, has retained his place in the playing XI.

On the other hand, after an emphatic 295 runs one-sided victory in the Perth Test, India will enter the pink ball Test with beaming confidence, especially now that captain Rohit Sharma is back. Rohit has confirmed that he will bat somewhere in the middle order with KL Rahul continuing to open the innings in the second Test in Adelaide. Dhruv Jurel will be shown the doors with 4 pacers combination highly likely. The warm-up game held earlier this week went in India's favour, as most players looked comfortable with the pink ball.

Pitch Report

The surface at the Adelaide Oval pitch for the pink ball Test is expected to be even turf for both sides. While the surface will see 6mm of grass on the opening day, the track will wear out as the game progresses. The pink ball tends to move a bit early on, especially under bright sunlight. However, the post-sunset period is the most challenging for batters due to the changing light and visibility. Bowlers, particularly seamers will find this session advantageous.

Weather Report

The weather forecast indicates the conditions to be clear for the Test, with the exception of Day 1. Thunderstorms might impact the play of Day 1. The temperature is expected to be around 28-33°C with humidity varying from 45-55%.
