El Mago's Premier League numbers from the scratch

Manchester City playmaker David Silva concluded one of the greatest Premier League careers against Norwich City on Sunday. Merlin played his 309th Premier League game on Sunday, helping Manchester City end the season with a dominating win.

Silva did not make it to the scoresheet but a 5-0 victory was a perfect send-off for a player who is going to be considered as one of the greatest ever to pay for the Cityzens. His future is yet unclear but the 34-year-old’s legacy has been phenomenal in English football.

Silva won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five EFL Cups, and probably a Champions League next month if City manages to knock out Real Madrid and go on to win the competition.

David Silva reached 200 Premier League wins after appearing for just 289 games, faster than any player in the English top-flight. Also, City won 69.2% of all league games when ‘El Mago’ was on the pitch, 214 in all.

The Spaniard has only made fewer appearances since his debut in the league than David De Gea and Ben Foster who have appeared in 312 and 322 games respectively, while the only player to have more minutes in that time is Kyle Walker. Silva set up 93 goals and that is 17 more than any other player since his debut in 2010.

Silva has also created 793 chances in the league and the closest anyone has managed to be around him is Eden Hazard with 595. Silva has 153 goals and assists combined, the fourth-highest since he came to England, behind Wayne Rooney (155), Harry Kane (163) and Sergio Aguero (226).

Silva is in yet another company of Premier League greats. He is sixth on all-time assist charts, one ahead of Steven Gerrard and behind only like the likes of Dennis Bergkamp (94), Frank Lampard (102), Wayne Rooney (103), Cesc Fabregas (111) and Ryan Giggs (162).

When it comes to Manchester City, he is almost at the top of every chart. He has played more games, won more games, and provided more assists than any other Manchester City player in the Premier League and is behind only Sergio Aguero in goals and assists combined.

Silva’s best season for goals and assists was 2011-12 when City won their first title when he registered 21 goals and assists combined. He has also managed to contribute at least 11 goal involvements in all his campaigns in England.

He has also completed 18,794 passes in the Premier League with an accuracy that is calculated to be averaging more than 87%.
