De Ligt talks about his future in football

Despite reports suggesting that De Ligt could soon leave Juventus, the youngster has come forward and shared how he is enjoying his life with the Serie A leaders. Matthijs de Ligt insisted that any reports claiming otherwise are wrong and the central defender was pretty vocal about his happiness at being in Turin.

The Netherlands international only moved to the Bianconeri last July, joining in a €75 million deal after leading Ajax that won a domestic double and reached the Champions League semi-finals and almost won it in the 2018-19 season.

De Ligt’s signing was seen as a huge positive for Juve at that time. However, the 20-year-old has been struggling for game time and is also guilty of making costly errors in his maiden campaign against Napoli and Inter.

With Barcelona being one of the top sides that is open for a move, De Ligt is clear enough of the fact that he wants to remain with the Old lady. “They invented many things about me. The truth is that I’m really happy in Turin and to be able to train every day with extraordinary players. I have the feeling of improving day by day. So, yes, I’m very happy.”

“When I arrived at Juventus I immediately realized the international dimension of the club. All the other players immediately made me feel part of a family, literally all of them,” De Ligt told Tuttosport. He also praised Maurizio Sarri’s style of play, not only for Juventus but for Chelsea as well.

As things stand, Juventus are only a point clear of Lazio with 12 games to go. Italy’s top-flight is set to resume in the coming weeks and Sarri is on his way to help Juventus grab their ninth successive Serie A title in his first season with the Bianconeri.
