FIFA WC 2022: Brazil vs Serbia Preview & prediction | H2H | lineup

With five FIFA World Cup titles to its name Brazil are on the hunt for yet another World title as they kickstart their journey in Qatar on Thursday (November 25).

Standing in Brazil’s way will be European giants Serbia who are yet again paired with the Seleçãos, having faced them in the group stages in the 2018 edition. The curtain-raiser in Lusail should be a treat to watch as both teams get ready for the showpiece vent in the gulf country.

Brazil vs Serbia Head to Head

Since Serbia came into existence, both Brazil and Serbia have met on just two occasions. One of those meetings came in the 2018 World Cup group stage as Brazil made light work of the opposition to win by 2-0. Goals from Paulinho and Thiago Silva were enough for Brazil to get the three points and advance as group winners.

The other meeting between the sides came a week before the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in a friendly where a solitary strike in the second half from Fred saw Brazil win the contest. The latest contest could provide the European nation its first opportunity to register a win against Brazil while the former champions will look to start on a high.
