The pair will meet for the fourth time as Zverev leads the affair 2-1, but it is the Spaniard Alcaraz who emerged victorious in their last affair in Madrid. 

The clash is the only time these two have met on the clay court, while the previous two meetings came on the hard court. Overall both players have been enjoying the best form of their life, but are yet to make any significant mark at a Grand Slam.

Alexander Zverev has been in superb form with his serve as he amassed 18 aces in the third-round match against Brandon Nakashima. 

With a 77 % first-serve conversion rate the German will be eager to make his mark on Tuesday against Alcaraz. In the entire tournament, he was broken only once as he also poses a good range of ground shots which give him a different variety.

On the other hand, Alcaraz has turned the clock in his favour in recent times as he too was dominant in his fourth-round encounter against Karen Khachanov. 

The 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 win was a timely reminder of why he is in the red hot form with both serve and defense. Alcaraz broke Khachanov five times in the fourth round encounter which again underlined his dominance.

Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz: Journey so far

Alexander Zverev was given a tough time in the second round of the French Open by Argentine Sebastian Baez as he needed three sets to prevail. But apart from that he has been fluent with his performance and shown his ‘A-game’ whenever required. 

The 25-year-old German has beaten the likes of Bernabe Zapata Miralles, Brandon Nakashima and Sebastian Ofner in the initial rounds to book a place against the Spaniard Alcaraz.

 So far in the French Open 2022, Alcaraz has been brilliant to watch and has looked rock-solid apart from the second-round clash against Albert Ramos. 

That match was the only time the Spaniard dropped sets in the French Open as he came from behind to win 6-1, 6-7, 5-7, 7-6, 6-4. Apart from that struggle, Alacarz was hardly tested by Sebastian Korda and Karen Khachanov as he now awaits a stern challenge in the form of Alexander Zverev.
