Juventus preparing a mega move for their former midfield wizard

Italian giants Juventus are plotting a mega summer transfer bid for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, according to reports in England.

The Old Lady are keen to bring their former midfield maestro back to the Turin club and are well aware that Manchester United could be willing to sell for the right price.

It is strongly claimed that the Frenchman is the number one priority of the Old Lady to bolster their midfield in the summer and they are preparing a mammoth bid.

The Old Lady have managed to free up some of their wages which could help them fund the big wage package of the midfielder. The Frenchman made his name during his time at the club before sealing a then world-record move to Manchester United.

Emre Can was on a big payroll and they managed to offload the out of favour German international.

The former Liverpool midfielder was linked with a move back to the Premier League as well as his former club Bayern Munich throughout January.

But, the German finally headed to Borussia Dortmund on the Deadline Day, initially on loan but with a £25million obligation to buy in the summer.

And, the Serie A champions also managed to strip Mario Mandzukic off their wage bill.

The Croatian international joined Qatari side Al-Duhail after failing to make a single appearance this season under Maurizio Sarri.

Pogba spent four years at Juventus between 2012 and 2016, making 178 appearances for the Serie A giants.

The World Cup winner with France returned to Old Trafford on a then world-record £89m deal.

But, he has struggled to showcase his quality on a consistent basis at the Theater of Dreams while being regularly linked with an exit from the club.

The 26-year-old has only featured eight times this season due to persistent ankle problems, leading to surgery following his most recent appearance on December 26.

Bruno Fernandes' arrival from Sporting Lisbon for £55m intensified the doubts regarding the future of the Frenchman at the club.

Real Madrid also have a long-term interest in Pogba with Zidane a big admirer of his compatriot. And, the Los Blancos could compete with the Old Lady for the signature of the Frenchman.

Despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggesting he wants the pair to play together, Fernandes could easily be seen as a long-term replacement to Pogba.

The Red Devils have an asking price of £150m for the Juventus target but could sell him on a much lesser fee.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola also hinted that a return to the Allianz Stadium could be on the cards.

He said: "Juve fans should dream, because if you do not dream, then you are dead.

"I do not work in dreams, but in the real world, so have to make the right choices for my clients. This is not the right moment to say what Paul's future will be."
