Kaka prefers Messi over his Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo
Former Real Madrid and AC Milan star, Kaka was asked about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Kaka labelled Messi as a “genius” and he also preferred the Argentine over his former team-mate.
Messi, who is a record six-time Ballon d’Or winner and Ronaldo, who is just one behind his rival are two of the greatest players the footballing world has ever witnessed. A debate between who is the best is often a fierce one, with the fan bases proving everything to prove their idol as the “Greatest Of All Time” or the “GOAT.”
Kaka is also the only player to beat Ronaldo and Messi and win the Ballon d'Or. During an Instagram live Q&A for FIFA’s channel, Kaka was asked his preference and he said, “I played with Cristiano and he’s really amazing but I’ll go with Messi.”
Praising the Argentine, Kaka said, “He’s a genius, a pure talent. The way he plays is incredible.” However, he did not shy away from appreciating Ronaldo too.
He added: Cristiano is a machine. It’s not just the way he’s strong, powerful and fast, he’s mentally strong too. He always wants to win and play, to be the best. For me, that’s the most incredible thing he has.”
“In the history of the sport, they (Messi and Cristiano) are definitely in the top five. We are very lucky to have been able to see both of them.”
But the question still remains. Who is the best in the world? When nothing ends in peace it is nowadays noticed that after a long time of continuous comparisons and judgements, fans have finally started to enjoy their favorites’ game as who knows when they retire.
The postponement of both the Euros 2020 and the Copa America has raised question over the future of these stars. However, as things stand both, Cristiano and Messi will be waiting to get their respective club teams through the Champions League knockout stages, once football begins.
