Miami Escapes - Sneak in Game 2 Victory in the NBA Finals

Whenever the Media and the Pundits plan to rub Miami Heat out of the competition, there comes a fire within and the trio of Butler, Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin, turns up on the court and surprise the whole NBA community, and similar case happened in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

The Miami Heat evened up the NBA finals on Sunday night by defeating the Denver Nuggets 111-108 in Game 2. Gabe Vincent had 23 points, Jimmy Butler had 21, and Bam Adebayo had 21.

The Heat, who had a sizable early lead before falling behind by as many as 15, before taking back the lead in the fourth, saw Max Strus score 14 points and Duncan Robinson add 10. Miami overcame a deficit of eight points by outscoring Denver 36-25 in the fourth period.

They carried out their promise. The Heat was more aggressive, made more 3-pointers, attempted 20 free throws—18 more than in Game 1—and restricted Denver players other than Nikola Jokic from scoring. In the third quarter, he scored 18 of his game-high 41 points. Denver decided against fouling Miami on the subsequent Miami possession. Jamal Murray missed a three-point attempt at the buzzer with a chance to tie the game after Butler missed a three.

Aaron Gordon scored 12 points, Bruce Brown scored 11, and Murray had 18 points and 10 assists for Denver. Jokic only got four assists, which is a major decrease from the 14 he had in Game 1.

Strus scored four three-pointers in the first quarter of Game 2 after going 0 for 10 in Game 1. Butler's jump shot gave Miami a 21-10 lead with 4:56 remaining in the first quarter, marking the second-largest advantage any opponent has amassed in Denver thus far in these playoffs.

As the series head back to Miami, for Game 3, the odds are still stacked in the favour of the Denver Nuggets, but Miami Heat has found an answer. Is it?
