Premier League team of the week: Matchday 12

A 10 days off from the Premier League here were the most valued players in terms of their form during Matchday week 12 who made it to the top 11 of the Premier League team of the week.

Formation: 4-4-2

Goalkeeper

Neto - Bournemouth

The Brazilian always proves to be the best choice in between the sticks whenever available for Bournemouth. He played versus the highflying Newcastle United in the Premier League Matchday 12 to keep a clean sheet for himself whereas fellow teammate Dominik Solanki did the rest by scoring a brace to win the game for them. He is chosen as the first team keeper this time out in the Premier League team of the week 12.

Right back

Vitaly Mykolenko - Everton

Two games, and two goals for the Ukraine international who is playing the best football in his career so far. Plying in a much more advanced role now the overlapping tunes he makes from the right have become more dangerous than ever considering his involvement in a lot of goals this time out. The tall and fast baller is diversifying a different kind of playing style compared to how he used to play before.

Centre back

William Saliba - Arsenal

Unarguably one of the best defenders in the world and just 22 years old, the ex-Marseille loanee will surely be the best defender in the world after some time. The centre-back offered the best he could to make sure his team came to winning ways in the Premier League before they all headed towards the international break. A solid performance at the heart of the defence with trustable deputy Gabriel Magalhaes.

Centre back

Virgil Van Dijk - Liverpool

One more solid performance from the tall Netherlands captain as he silenced his critics once more after a bad display last season. The best possible way to make the haters shut up would be winning the title but that would code him a hell lot of more in terms of playing. The defender was exceptional versus Brentford who were coming on from three wins in a row but he managed to keep a clean sheet for his side.

Left-back

Olexander Zinchenko - Arsenal

A man-of-the-match performance by the experienced Ukrainian as he was called Upto the first team with the first-choice left-back Takehiro Tomiyasu taking the right-back spot in the absence of Ben White. The left-back was the starter of the move that resulted in Leonardo Trossard's opener for Arsenal with himself adding one to the Scot line with a famous replica of Di Canio's kick to score the goal.

Right midfield

Mohammed Salah - Liverpool

A 150 million euros bid was rejected during the summer of the Premier League season 2023-2024 and yet it proved to be completely in favour of Liverpool as Mohamed Salah has yet to offer a lot to the Anfield giants. Two more goals on the trot and the Egyptian is topping the charts again in terms of scoring. Certainly, one of the biggest accomplished businesses Liverpool must have done in the entire history of the club.

Centre midfield

James Ward Prowse - West Ham

A replacement for Declan Rice, the midfielder and club captain was brought from Southampton this summer. So far the player has been a good business for the club considering his involvement in a lot of gold he it in setting them up or scoring themselves. His exceptional free-kick scoring abilities were one of the major traits that heavy bucks were spent on his signature.

Centre midfield

Cole Palmer - Chelsea

Cole Palmer has been one of the most effective signings so far in the season for Chelsea, bought for a whopping 42.5 million euros on the deadline day from Manchester City, he has converted every possible penalty that he has taken this Eason for the London Blues so far. This a signing that has market consequences for Pep Guardiola as to why was he even considered for selling considering the brighter future he had or should say has.

Left midfield

Leonardo Trossard - Arsenal

Leonardo Trossard has proven that he was the ideal replacement for Mykhalo Mudryk when he joined the Gunners. A 25 million signing that has been involved in either scoring or setting up others to score. A player who has been utilised in various positions from being played as a centre striker to a right winger, a left winger and also as an attacking midfielder sometimes. The Belgian was a great investment which I guess many might agree.

Centre forward

Erling Haaland - Manchester City

Erling Haaland was involved in what can we call the match of the matches in the Premier League on Matchday 12. He scored the brace with one goal in each of the halves but couldn’t make his team touch the winning stroke as they drew Chelsea 4-4 in an epic showdown. The Norwegian has now scored a total of 13 goals in 12 Premier League matches. Not to forget he also had an assist in the last match as well.

Centre Forward

Dominik Solanki - Bournemouth

Dominik Solanki accompanies the second striker spot alongside the Norwegian Erling Haaland to bolster the attack in the Premier League team of the week. The former Liverpool striker and Englishman played the starring role and scored a brace that helped Bournemouth register a vital win over mighty Newcastle at the home of the Cherries. If he continues his fine form, Bournemouth will be certain to avoid the drop zone.
