Rio Ferdinand feels Mason Greenwood is "priceless"

Rio Ferdinand is in awe of the Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood. The 18-year-old has been one of the best things United have witnessed in these tough times.

He thinks that the team needs to build-up but this player has shown that he is willing to do everything for the club and his records don’t lie.

Greenwood has taken the entire Old Trafford by storm by his key performances on the pitch. Be it a vital moment against Everton, where he saved United from a defeat or against LASK recently, scoring just moments after coming on the pitch.

Legendary United defender Rio Ferdinand was asked about the forward in an Instagram Q&A.

Ferdinand replied saying, “Have you seen what this kid is doing? Left and right foot, if you said to him to take a free-kick please, in his own mind he is telling himself ‘do they want it on my right or my left foot?’

That is the kind of conversation he is having in his head. Left foot, right foot, bang. The ball is hitting the back of the net. That is how he moves.”

Ferdinand also claimed that he knew Mason from the time he was a kid and not only him but several other people at the club spoke about him at the club. Greenwood has improved and impressed at every level he has gone too and he looks unfazed, ready to step up his game with every opportunity given.

Ferdinand also said, “He just looks around ‘Old Trafford? This is me. I’m meant to be here.’ That is the vibe I get from him. You can’t put a price on that, that cold-hearted calm confidence is just mad.”

Mason Greenwood has already scored five goals in the Premier League with the United first team and five goals and an assist in the Europa League so far.

He has been contributing and setting up goals in the EFL Cup too with a crucial assist which was Manchester United’s only goal in the Manchester Derby in the first leg of the semi-final of the competition.

The youngster is already compared with Robin Van Persie, who was a great player and the Dutchman has no complaints as he’s already aware of the similarities between their style of shooting and a lot of attributes.

Greenwood is already seen as one of the best players of the world in the future and thus Ferdinand feels that he is “priceless”.
