Choices

From when he decided to choose water instead of Coca-Cola to promote healthy dietary choices, choosing to be humble, acknowledging his limitations and letting others (One of his close friends at Sporting) do the off the field work to develop the CR7 brand. Along with that, making the choice of turning up to training and matches instead of resting on his laurels and taking it easy due to his supreme talent. Where others faltered despite being more talented them him are some of the many reasons his choices have made him who he his today and this teaches us the impact our choices can have on our lives.

Consistency

He was not always the elite goal scorer that he had eventually become over the course of his career and is synonymous with. He was an out and out winger who had comparatively very little end product till his last two seasons at his first spell at united. He has had to spend countless hours apart from the usual training, practicing free kicks, penalties, skills while running the whole length of the pitch week in week out and the results along with a little bit of luck are for all of us to see. Consistency, no matter how insignificant it might seem in the short run can over time compound into something special and one should strive to make small yet consistent changes instead of making big changes but not being consistent and persistent with them.

Celebration

Only the genius of Cristiano Ronaldo can turn an innocuous word like yes into an iconic celebrations which even the superstars of tomorrow use as a way to celebrate in honor of the big man. The likes of Mbappe and Garnacho who are going to inspire the next wave of ballers look up to CR7 for celebration inspiration. Just like how CR7 turned the mundane yes into the iconic Si (Siuuu), we can learn that no matter how mundane the achievement in ones life is, one should always strive to celebrate the little victories in life because you never know how big it might be in hindsight.

Creativity

One has to be always on top of their game and constantly reinvent themselves to remain successful at whatever one does and CR7 is a prime example of that. Initially he was an out and out skiller who dazzled with his skills like the Ronaldo Chop and showmanship along with a few goals and assist here and there. Eventually he tweaked his game and focused more on being lethal and effective in front of goal but also retained some of his former self which resulted in multiple goal scoring records along with an occasional moment or two of samba like brilliance. During his later years till date, he has adapted to his body and has now drastically made his game such that he can provide maximum output while doing minimum damage to his body. He focus solely on output and longevity and one has to be come up with unique and creative solutions all the time in order to adapt whether it is for CR7 who did it on the field or for you wherever you are at this point of your life.

Clarity

Often cited by many team mates over the course of his career as one of the most people to be around, this is because Cristiano Ronaldo has a clear vision of how he wants to live his life as his life entirely revolves around football. His diet, his sleeping schedule is not something one who does not know what he wants to do would relate with. If one has to go out of the way and do something different  than one should do it but that realization only comes when one precisely know what they want to do with life and have a clear aim in mind minus any distractions just like Cristiano Ronaldo.

Charisma

Cristiano Ronaldo was not always the media darling that he is today. He was not always someone brands flocked to during the early stages of his career let alone build a successful brand on his own. He was very shy and timid during his early years and only grew in stature as he started performing better and better and today is one of the biggest faces of the not only this beautiful game but many other walks in life. This shows us that Charisma is not something one inherits or is born with, but something that can be inculcated and worked upon.

Craze

Often in life one experiences odds being stacked against them, some wilt and wither and others crib. But their are some exceptions like Cristiano Ronaldo who despite a degenerative disease managed to carve out a career at all let alone of such significance is an example of how being crazy about something can override the odds stacked against someone in this case being logic dictated by medical science. He could have easily downed his tools and it would have made sense especially considering he does not come up from a well renowned family but he did not and we can only thank him for doing so. Maybe you can also thank yourself on not giving up on what you aspire for.
