The ICC T20 World Cup is just 3  days away and it is set to take place in Australia. This is the first time the most prestigious T20 cup is going to take place down under. The grounds are big, the boundaries are long and the pitches will be full of bounce and fiery pace.

1) Melbourne Cricket Ground

2) Sydney Cricket Ground

The Sydney Cricket Ground is one of the oldest test venues, which hosted the first-ever Ashes encounter between England and Australia back in 1882. The SCG has a capacity to hold around 48,000 fans and it is a good batting wicket, so expect to see a few high-scoring games when matches are played here.

The ground is also a pre-dominant ODI venue and has hosted numerous final matches as well as the crucial semi-final in the 1992 World Cup. One of the most popular sporting venues across the world, SCG was the ground where Sir Don Bradman made his highest-ever first-class score of 452, for New South Wales against Queensland in 1928-29.

Inaugurated in Jan 2018, the Perth stadium, also known as the Optus stadium, is the third largest stadium in Australia which has a capacity to hold 61,266 fans and can also be extended to 65,000 fans for rectangular sports. This stadium has not only been used for cricket but has even held rugby, football, and concerts of many celebrities.

Located in South Australia, the Adelaide Oval is one of the best stadiums in Australia, if not the world. With a capacity to hold over 53,583 fans, the stadium did have a Redevelopment of the ground between 2008 and 2014 at a cost of $575 million. The pitch is a batting paradise and it hardly offers any assistance to the bowlers. 

The stadium hosted its first ODI back in 1975 when Australia took on the West Indies. Over the years, many riveting contests have taken place at Adelaide Oval, including West Indies' great escape from the proverbial jaws of defeat to beat Australia by 1-run in a Test match in 1993.

The stadium is named after the Brisbane suburb of Woolloongabba, in which it is located. A 42,000-seat stadium, the Gabba also caters to other sports - American Rules Football, Soccer, Rugby Union, and Greyhound racing. Notable matches have taken place in this stadium, namely the first-ever tied test match between Australia in 1960 and India's historic test series victory against Australia in 2021.

The Gabba is considered to be the truest wicket available in Australia. It generally offers healthy bounce and carries to the quicks while the batsman thrives on the consistent bounce.

It has a seating capacity of  20,000 people - the second-largest capacity stadium in Tasmania It is the only venue in Tasmania which hosts international Cricket matches. It is the home for the Hobart Hurricanes and the AFL club North Melbourne
