Top 5 highest-earning Arsenal players

Bukayo Saka has signed a five-year deal that will keep him at Arsenal F.C. until the summer of 2031.

The 24-year-old, with this new contract, has become one of the club’s highest earners, alongside other key Gunners players.

Let’s take a look at Saka’s expected salary and how it compares with the rest of Arsenal’s first-team squad, focusing on the top five players in terms of reported wages.

5. Martin Odegaard – £240,000 a week

In September 2023, the captain signed a five-year contract, making him the third-highest paid player on the team at the time. Odegaard had just completed a season with 15 goals and seven assists, although Arsenal had narrowly missed out on the Premier League title.

Even though he hasn’t been able to match that goal tally in subsequent seasons, the Norwegian has remained a key player for the team ever since.

4. William Saliba – £250,000 a week

Before signing his new contract, William Saliba wasn’t initially Mikel Arteta’s first choice in defence. However, since joining from Marseille after a loan spell, he has developed into a commanding centre-back.

Having become a regular starter at the beginning of the 2022–23 season, Saliba has cemented his place as a key figure in Arsenal’s defence. His new deal now keeps him at the Emirates Stadium until 2030, and he has become one of Arteta’s most important players.

3. Gabriel Jesus – £265,000 a week

In the summer of 2022, Arsenal had to pay a significant fee to bring the Brazilian international from Manchester City. While injuries have limited Gabriel Jesus’ impact over the past three and a half years, he was seen as the missing piece in the team, providing a potent goal-scoring threat.

Now 28, Jesus is reportedly keen to stay with the Gunners beyond his current contract, which runs until 2027. However, the club will need to weigh the pros and cons carefully, given his substantial salary.

2. Kai Havertz – £280,000 a week

Kai Havertz has faced several injury setbacks over the past year, similar to Gabriel Jesus. He was sidelined with a hamstring injury, made a return, and then suffered another injury. Despite this, the team seems to perform better when he’s on the pitch. Havertz’s current contract runs until 2028, but there are no signs yet that an extension is in the works.

1. Bukayo Saka – £300,000+ a week

Bukayo Saka is set to earn more than Kai Havertz, making him Arsenal’s highest-paid player, according to respected journalist Sami Mokbel.

His new salary will place him among the top earners in the Premier League, alongside Bernardo Silva of Manchester City and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes.

Only a handful of players make more: Virgil van Dijk and Casemiro, who earn £350,000 per week, Mohamed Salah at £400,000 per week, and Erling Haaland, who tops the list with over £500,000 per week.
