Why Kylian Mbappe can become the greatest Galactico from France since Zidane

While here is no denying that Zidane is a modern day legend both as a player as well as a manager for Madristas, there latest mega signing, who they managed to get after an almost 7 year drawn out transfer saga could potentially  disrupt the status quo and might end up claiming their sport for the greatest Galactico from France.

Kylian Mbappe burst onto the scene at 17 and is still only 25 when he arrives at the Santiago Benrnebeu  when is contract at Paris Saint Germain expires this summer. This the age where he is at his physical pea .and about to enter his prime years despite already having played 350 plus games for club and 70 plus games for France. So he has much more of a prime to make an impact  while already being proven performer beforehand while Zidane was there during his final 5 years as a professional.

Transfer Policy

While Zidane was brought in during the time period where the Galacticos policy reigned supreme and the emphasis was on bringing in big name players, there has been a stark contrast in the recent years with the focus now being on grooming and nurturing young talent. With established  young talents like Vini, Valverde and young guns like Arda Guler, Endrick, it's a very exciting young squad with experience which is perfect for a 25 year old Mbappe to slide into and become the mainstay of a team for whom only sky is the limit.

Squad Dynamics

With their squad being largely settled, it is unlikely that for some transfer windows from now, they would make any significant signings. Let along anyone specifically from France with the last potential one being Paul Pogba who is ruled out for at least 4 years by virtue of legal reasons  and they have adequate firepower within the squad to replace aging legends such as Kroos and Modric and at least for now. There doesn't seem to be any French talent on Madrid’s radar that could unsettle his throne.

Zidane might have been the better all round player, a player with more flair and skills, history books will always show goals and assist as an important parameter to be judged upon. Kylian Mbappe is a much more effective talent at scoring goals and creating assist as a wide forward. This specialist excellence could work in his favour at Madrid and help him potentially become a Madrid legend on par with Zidane.

Medical Advancements

Zidane ended up retiring from all football at the age of 34. But with recent medical advancements and the game becoming less rough and tough, Mbappe could potentially  prolong his career if he wishes to do so and by virtue of that extend his prime years at Madrid shall everything go according to plan and he stays relatively injury free. This is even more important of a factor to be taken into account as Zidane never really relied on speed whereas speed is one of brightest elements of Kylian Mbappe's gameplay .

In the end, even though Kylian Mbappe might already be a modern day legend for France as well as PSG (At least here he has got one over Zidane already) Only time will tell whether he manages to adapt to LaLiga or not. As up until now, he has spent the entirety of his career in his native France and that too for the all conquering financial Giants like PSG who have been steam rolling the domestic leagues without any significant hurdles for the most part.
