Barcelona target loan deal for this in-form Arsenal striker

Barcelona are reportedly keen on securing the services of the Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan.

The reigning champions of La Liga are looking for a temporary replacement of Luis Suarez who is going to be out of action for nearly four months.

Aubameyang has attracted interest from Barcelona as it is understood that the Gabonese striker is willing to explore his options to play Champions League football.

However, he might not be interested in the Barcelona move as it has been reported that the Spanish giants are not planning to offer him a permanent deal.

Barcelona want to have Aubameyang only for the rest of the ongoing season before they approach Internazionale with an inquiry for their forward Lautaro Martinez.

Aubameyang will be out of contract at Arsenal in the summer of 2021 and while it is believed that the Arsenal hierarchy wants to extend his contract, the 30-year old hasn’t given them any encouraging signs so far.

There isn’t much of a chance that Arsenal will let Aubameyang go to Spain on loan, given their own situation in the Premier League at this stage.

Aubameyang is the only striker Arsenal have at the moment who is in form. While he is out of action at the moment having been sent off against Crystal Palace, the Gunners are really struggling for any sort of penetration upfront.

They would want Aubameyang back as soon as possible and are most likely to reject Barcelona’s bid for a loan.

Aubameyang is Arsenal’s biggest hope to keep them alive in the race of top 4 which looks really tough for them considering the situation they are in.

However, given the inconsistency of their rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Spurs, Arsenal can still make it to top 4 in the Premier League if they go on a winning streak from here.

Arsenal currently have a 10-point deficit to nullify to draw levels with Chelsea who are at no. 4 in the Premier League points table.
