The 2024-25 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) has been filled with exhilarating action, featuring thrilling matches, remarkable goals, and instances of exceptional skill. Nevertheless, it has also been marked by numerous intense confrontations, disciplinary challenges, and instances of red card offenses.

East Bengal – 7 Red Cards

East Bengal has experienced a challenging season despite their active participation in the summer transfer window. Their efforts have been undermined by a poor disciplinary record, as players such as Souvik Chakrabarti, Jeakson Singh, Provat Lakra, Mahesh Singh Naorem, and Nandhakumar Sekar have all received red cards while representing the Red and Gold Brigade. Furthermore, Lalchungnunga has faced the unfortunate circumstance of being issued a red card two times during the 2024-25 ISL season. Apart from seven red cards, East Bengal have also received 51 yellow cards in 15 ISL games.

The Kerala Blasters have seen four red card expulsions in the Indian Super League so far. In their match against Punjab FC, both Milos Drincic and Aibhanbha Dohling were shown red cards during a 1-0 victory. Notably, Dohling received a red card for headbutting Aladdine Ajaraie of NorthEast United in a recent match. In addition to the four red cards, players from KBFC have received a total of 38 yellow cards across 17 ISL matches.

Chennaiyin FC have received three red cards this season, with PC Laldinpuia, Connor Shields, and Laldinliana Renthlei being dismissed from the match. Notably, two of these red cards were issued for disciplinary reasons rather than actual fouls, indicating that they could have been prevented. Chennaiyin have also been handed 29 yellow cards so far in 16 ISL games.

NorthEast United – 3 Red Cards

NorthEast United has experienced a successful start to the 2024-25 ISL season under the management of Juan Benali. The Highlanders have seen Asheer Akhtar, Robin Yadav, and Soraisham Singh receive red cards this season. Notably, NEUFC has not suffered a defeat in any of the three matches in which they were issued a red card. Throughout 16 ISL matches, NorthEast United have received a total of 31 yellow cards.

In terms of red cards, OFC have had Ahmed Jahouh sent off twice while Carlos Delgado was given his marching orders in the recent loss to Kerala Blasters. Odisha FC have also received 30 yellow cards in 16 ISL games.

The Shers started their 2024-25 ISL campaign with a lot of positivity, winning their first three games. However they have since lost form a bit with injuries to some of their foreign players and this has seen them slip down the league table. Punjab FC is enduring a six-match winless streak, which has adversely impacted their defensive statistics, as they have accumulated three red cards during this period. Khaiminthang Lhungdim has received two red cards, while Ezequiel Vidal has been shown a red card once. Additionally, Punjab FC has been issued a total of 38 yellow cards this season.
