Both teams maintain a strong rivalry in T20I cricket. In the semi-finals of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 held in Adelaide, England triumphed over India by 10 wickets. However, two years later, India eliminated England from the 2024 edition of the tournament, achieving victory in the semi-finals. Interestingly, each team went on to win their respective tournaments.

Indian captain Virat Kohli registered an unbeaten 77-run knock against England in Ahmedabad in 2021.

Batting first, India faced an early collapse, ending the powerplay at 24/3.  Kohli subsequently formed a crucial partnership of 70 runs with Hardik Pandya, which propelled India to a total of 156 runs. Kohli's performance featured eight boundaries and four sixes. Despite his commendable contribution, India ultimately succumbed to defeat by eight wickets.

As the opening batsman, he contributed to a partnership of 94 runs with Rohit Sharma and subsequently established an 81-run collaboration with Hardik Pandya for the third wicket.

His knock of 80 runs off 52 balls included seven fours and two sixes. India secured a convincing victory by 36 runs, and Kohli was awarded Player of the Series for accumulating 231 runs across five innings.

Rohit Sharma was the standout performer for India during the third T20I of their 2018 tour of England, held in Bristol. His remarkable innings played a crucial role in enabling the visitors to successfully pursue the challenging target of 199 runs, achieving victory by seven wickets.

His unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 56 balls included 11 fours and five sixes. This outstanding century contributed to India's victory in the three-match series, concluding with a score of 2-1. Rohit was awarded the Player of the Match title for his decisive performance.

Following England's dismissal for 159 runs in their initial innings, Rahul's unbeaten score of 101 runs contributed significantly to India's victory by eight wickets.

Rahul’s innings included 10 fours and five sixes. He added 123 runs with Rohit Sharma for the second wicket. Rahul was named Player of the Match for his efforts.

Surya's stunning century came during the third T20I of India's 2021 tour of England. In pursuit of a target set at 216 runs, Surya played a crucial role in maintaining India's competitiveness with an explosive innings that featured 14 boundaries and six sixes. However, despite his impressive performance, India ultimately fell short, losing the match by 17 runs as a result of a batting collapse.
