Jurgen Klopp not leaving the Reds until 2024

Jurgen Klopp extended his contract with the Premier League leaders on Friday, agreeing to a deal that keeps him at the club until 2024.

The German manager arrived at Anfield in October 2015 and handed debuts to many of the young Liverpool lads including Trent Alexander-Arnold, who made his professional debut just 12 months after his arrival.

When asked about Klopp by the Spanish newspaper AS, Arnold said,” He (Klopp) is someone who has really made me who I am today.”

Alexander-Arnold also credited Klopp as someone who has pushed him to get better every day, someone who has given him abundant opportunities and that he could never repay all that confidence which Klopp has kindled in him.

Klopp has been super impressive leading the Merseysiders towards their first Premier League title this year. Klopp’s Liverpool finished second in the 18-19 season, just one point behind the Champions, Manchester City. Liverpool managed to garner 97 points, their best in the Premier League.

In the interview after his contract extension, Klopp said he could not imagine leaving Liverpool in 2022 after the manager helped Liverpool win their sixth European title, which surprisingly was also his first piece of silverware with the club.

Before this, Klopp lost two finals in his first season as Liverpool manager. However, since then, things have turned around for the better.

The Liverpool boss has created a team capable of defeating any side in the world, which was proved by a stunning 4-0 comeback at Anfield, against the Spanish giants, Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Liverpool are currently having the best run of games being unbeaten and crossing their all-time unbeaten run already. Only Chelsea and Arsenal have had bigger and longer unbeaten runs.

Klopp has also made some very impactful signings in this process, which have made the team better with every ongoing season.

Sadio Mane and Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton, Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, Fabinho from Monaco and many more.

Mohamed Salah, the former Chelsea man has been his best signing for the club. With all the developments and progress, a contract extension was already on its way.
