Kylian Mbappe hails Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

French superstar Kylian Mbappe has sparked talk of a move to Liverpool after heaping praise on "ruthless" Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been in an unbelievable run of  form in the past few seasons and is now on the radar of some of Europe's top clubs. Real Madrid are thought to be leading the race for the Frenchman, but Mbappe has now himself fueled speculation regarding a move to Anfield.

Mbappe told the Mirror: "This season, Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League.

"They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.

"Performances like they have been having don't just happen.

"To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager."

It is pretty much a public knowledge that Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the French sensation often publicly heaping praise on the generational talent.

Liverpool were also interested in him when he was at AS Monaco but it was PSG who managed to sign the pacey striker. It would take an astronomic fee for any club to woo Mbappe away from PSG and Liverpool are not particularly a club who would spend such a massive fee on a player and neither do they need to.

However, Mbappe has consistently been linked with a move to Liverpool even though there is a general consensus that he will end up at Real Madrid.

Earlier this month, reports in France claimed Klopp had reached out to Mbappe's dad, Wilfried, regarding a summer move. Mbappe himself publicly admitted he was "very flattered" but the Liverpool boss had earlier cooled talk of a move saying it's unlikely anyone could prise the French striker from PSG.

In November, the German maestro claimed: "[Buying] this calibre of player is difficult. I don't see any club at the moment who can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG.

"I don't see any club, that is how it is. We are involved in the clubs that cannot do it – it is as easy as that.

"OK, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign him – what a player he is!

"It is about the money, of course. No chance. Absolutely no chance."

As a club, Liverpool are once again a major pulling power now as they are currently reigning European champions and 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. They're therefore a very appealing prospect, but players have always had a tough time rejecting the advances of Real Madrid and Mbappe is thought be keen on joining forces with Zinedine Zidane who is his idol.

Los Blancos are desperate to sign Mbappe to finally replace the gaping void left by Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Zinedine Zidane has identified Liverpool star Sadio Mane as one of his top targets this summer.

That would not only see Real Madrid turn their attention away from Mbappe, but also raise funds and open up a spot for Mbappe at Liverpool.
