South Africa vs Australia Player Ratings : ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 

The exciting match between South Africa and Australia came to an end with Australia victorious. 

This match was a low scoring thriller, the team with good depth in batting had a chance as it was a pitch which was always favourable for the bowlers as it was an afternoon match at the Zayed Cricket Stadium of Abu Dhabi.

In the match Australian bowlers were the key part of the win as they didn’t let the South African batsmen settle and let them have a good partnership. 

They kept length accurate and disciplined, resulting with wickets on regular intervals. Lets get into the players ratings for the match between South Africa and Australia.

South Africa Player Ratings :

Temba Bavuma(c) : 3.5

Started the innings in a great way by smashing two 4’s in the very 1st over of the innings of Mitchell Starc but wasn’t able to continue that form as he was bowled by Glenn Maxwell. As a captain he was spot on with the field he had placed today. 

Quinton De Kock(wk) : 2.5 

Struggled as an opener in the start and threw his wicket cheaply by playing an unnecessary shot. Hence, Sportco's player ratings for De Kock for today's match between South Africa and Australia is a lowly 2.5.                                                                                                                                      

Hendrick Van Der Dussen : 2.5

Got out on 2 while chasing a wide which was really well bowled Josh Hazlewood and while fielding took a great catch facing the sunlight.  

Aiden Markram : 8

His innings helped South Africa reach a respectable total and he came to bat when South Africa were 16/2 and were in immense pressure and calmly leaded the innings which was the best in 1st innings. 

Took a flying catch while fielding at long on of Steve Smith who was looking solid while batting and was taking the match away from South Africa. Our player ratings for Markram is an 8.

Heinrich Klaasen : 4.0 

Smashed couple of boundaries was looking good was rotating strike but got out as soon as finding his touch. 

David Miller : 4.5

Played a sensible game after coming to bat by rotating his strike with settled Markram but failed to convert his innings and got out for 16.

Dwaine Pretorius : 2.5 

Was not able to play at his best got out for just 1 run and was expensive during bowling but while feiling saved a couple of ryan for his team.

Keshav Maharaj : 5.0

He was bowling at a good line and was pretty sharp with his spin bowling during the match. That rewarded him with a wicket of Mitchell Marsh  

Kagiso Rabada : 6.5

He is a player who performed in all the sectors of the game. Contributed with bat by scoring 19 runs and was very sharp active while fielding in which he took a fabulous catch and took the wicket of David Warner.

Anrich Nortje : 5.0

His 1st spell in the powerplay was superb which helped his team build pressure on Australia while defending a low score. In his 1st spell he gave 6 runs and took a wicket of Aaron Finch in 2 overs.

Tabraiz Shamsi : 5.0

With all the variety of spin he brings to the game he delivered a great performance and took the wicket of Glenn Maxwell.

Australia Player Ratings :

Aaron Finch(c) : 2.0 

As the captain of the team used the players very effectively especially the bowlers but during batting got 0 while opening the batting and threw his wicket while chasing a wide delivery.

David Warner : 3.5

Took his time to settle, was looking subtle scored 14 runs which included 3 boundaries gave away his wicket easily.

Mitchell Marsh : 3.0

Did no misfileds during fielding, started his innings on a positive note, then gave away his wicket trying to hit boundaries  after consecutive dot balls.

Steve Smith : 7.5

Saved singles standing inside the 30 yards circle while feilding, scored 35 runs for his team when they needed it the most after losing quick 2 wickets at the start of the innings. Brought the Australian innings on track but gave away his wicket trying to clear the boundary.   

Glenn Maxwell : 6.0

He was an asset for his team as he provided wickets while bowling, saved runs while fielding and scored runs while batting. His bowling helped Australia create pressure in the 1st powerplay where he took the wicket of the oppositions captain Temba Bavuma.

Marcus Stoinis : 6.0

Scored a quick 24 runs (not out) in the death overs of the match and played a crucial role in his team's victory.

Mathew Wade(wk) : 5.0

Didn’t make mistakes during keeping and caught a catch while keeping. Scored 15 (not out) in the death overs of the match.  

Pat Cummins : 6.0

The most economical bowler of the match, batsmen were finding it difficult to score against him. He clinched 1 wicket and gave 17 runs of 4 overs. 

Mitchell Starc : 4.5

Gave 11 runs of his 1st over which led to pressure on his team. But made a comeback by taking 2 wickets. He gave 32 runs while bowling which led the opposition to score more runs than desired. 

Adam Zampa : 6.5

He was one of the best spin bowlers in this match as he took 2 wickets and gave 21 runs in 4 overs. The flippers he bowled led him to clinch those wickets.

Josh Hazlewood : 8.5 ⭐

He was awarded as the Man of the Match for his 2/19. He created pressure on the opposition by bowling maiden over in the 1st powerplay. In the death over as well he kept the pressure on by bowling the perfect line and length. 

Hence, our player ratings for Hazlewood for today's match between South Africa and Australia is an 8.5.
