Team India goes down against Bahrain in friendlies

The Indian football team fought hard before going down to higher-ranked Bahrain 1-2 in an international friendly on Wednesday. 

Bahrain were awarded a penalty in the sixth minute of the game after a handball by Sandesh Jhingan, however, goalkeeper Gurpreet Sandhu made eccentric diving save to his left. 

After the heroics of Gurpreet Sandhu, The 91st-ranked Bahrain got the upper hand as their midfielder Mohammed Al-Hardan struck the game's opening goal in the 38th minute, as team India was charging with offensive blows Rahul Bheke hit back in 59th minute of the match. 

In the second half, Igor Stimac, the head coach of the Indian National team made some decisive tactical changes which proved to be somewhat escalating, however, the joy was short-lived as Mahdi Humaidan struck the all-important goal in the 88th minute to seal the deal in favor of Bahrain. 

India next plays Belarus in another international friendly on March 26.
