The Premier League Round-up: Match day 16

10th December, Sunday

The Premier League Round of 15 is over for now with major movements witnessed in the Premier League points table. It’s a bit early to draw up any predictions about who will win the Premier League but we can at least have a few contenders confirmed who will be among the most favourites to win the contest.

Everton vs Chelsea

Final score line: 2-0

Scorers: A. Doucoure (54’)

                L. Dobbin (90+2)

Match facts: Chelsea are nowhere near what they were just 3 seasons ago. A change in coaches, owner and a lot many players has not even made it possible for them to cope with their bad season in the previous year with many signings costing them above half a 100 million while some touching the mark. A bad loss to relegation-battling Everton who are playing even better after their punishment which cost them a 10 points deduction. It seems positive for them to be able to avoid the drop zone if they keep performing at this level.

Fulham vs West Ham

Final score line: 5-0

Scorers: Raul Jiminez (22’) assisted by Joao Palhinha.

Willian (31’) assisted by Alex Iwobi

                T. Adarabioyo (41’) assisted by Andrea Perriera

Harry Wilson (60’) assisted by T. Cairney

Carlos (89’) assisted by Harry Wilson

Match facts: West Ham was in some red-hot form during the Premier League fixtures but have now lost to Fulham as the opponents thrashed them to a score line of 5-0. Five different scorers and 5 different players who assisted means, it was a good all-round performance from a Fulham side who have been struggling to find form and some points along the way. Their win over Wear Ham takes them to 10th, just three points shy of West Ham who are in 9th position in the Premier League points table.

Luton Town vs Manchester City

Final score line: 1-2

Scorers: E. Adebayo (45+2) assisted by Andros Townsend

                Bernardo Silva (62’)

Jack Grealish (65’) assisted by Julian Alvarez

Match facts: Luton is proving to be a tough competition for big-time teams as they were undoubtedly exceptional when they faced Arsenal as they took it deep till the very end when Declan Rice scored the added-time winner. They were even better against last year's defending champions Manchester City and took the lead in the first half itself. A goal from Portugal star Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish helped the Manchester Blue win the Premier League encounter.

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Final score line: 4-1

Scorers: I. Udogie (20’) asssited by Son Heung Min

Richarlison (38’) assisted by Son Heung Min

Richarlison (60’) assisted by Pedro Porro

                Son Heung Min (85’) Penalty

Joelington (90+1’) assisted by Callum Wilson

Match facts: Leading the table for 10 straight games and not losing any, Tottenham were being considered Premier League favorites to win the league this time out, four straight losses to different oppositions in the league dropped them off the top with a win over Newcastle being their first glory after these losses. Newcastle whereas aren’t found any form lately with Eddie Howe being furious with his team’s performance as they now sit on 6th to be 4 points shy of Tottenham in fifth.
