Top 5 Clubs Anthony Gordon Could Join This Summer

The summer transfer window hasn't even opened yet, but Anthony Gordon's name is already dominating football headlines. The 25-year-old Newcastle United winger is reportedly open to leaving St. James' Park, and the Magpies are bracing for incoming bids — with a firm £75 million price tag set on the England international.

Since arriving from Everton in January 2023 for an initial £40 million, Gordon has repaid that investment many times over. His electric pace, direct dribbling, and impressive Champions League form this season have made him one of the Premier League's most coveted attackers. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Gordon is eager to settle his club future before linking up with Thomas Tuchel's England squad — and the clock is ticking.

Here are the top five clubs that could sign the Newcastle star this summer

1. Liverpool

It is no secret that Anthony Gordon grew up as a Liverpool supporter. Born and raised on Merseyside, the winger came through Everton's academy but has never hidden his childhood admiration for the Reds. Reports from multiple outlets have consistently named Liverpool as the frontrunners in the race for Gordon, and the interest appears to be mutual.

Liverpool are reportedly looking at Gordon as a potential replacement for Cody Gakpo, with the Dutch forward's future at Anfield subject to its own speculation. Arne Slot's side have been impressive this season, and adding a player of Gordon's quality to an already potent attack would be a significant statement of intent. The stumbling block, as always, could be the fee — Liverpool are known to be calculated in the market, and whether they're willing to meet Newcastle's £75 million asking price remains to be seen.

2. Bayern Munich

In recent days, Bayern Munich have emerged as perhaps the most aggressive pursuers of Anthony Gordon. Reports out of Germany suggest the Bundesliga champions view Gordon as a key target for their summer rebuild, and the player himself has reportedly told his entourage that he would be open to making the move to Munich.

Bayern offer guaranteed Champions League football, a winning culture, and the chance to test himself in a new league. It's understood that Gordon has even discussed the prospect of joining Bayern with England teammate Harry Kane, who has thrived since making his own move to the Allianz Arena.

3. Arsenal

Arsenal have been linked with Anthony Gordon for months, and the Gunners are reportedly preparing a £75 million bid to try and bring him to the Emirates. Mikel Arteta has been relentless in his pursuit of a Premier League title, and a dynamic winger like Gordon could be the final piece of a squad that has been knocking on the door for several seasons.

Gordon's pace, work rate, and ability to beat a man one-on-one would fit seamlessly into Arteta's high-pressing system. The prospect of lining up alongside Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Kai Havertz would be tantalising for any forward in world football. Arsenal's financial muscle and Champions League status make them a very real contender.

4. FC Barcelona

According to recent reports, Anthony Gordon has actually offered himself to FC Barcelona. The Catalan giants are always on the lookout for exciting, technically gifted wingers, and Gordon's profile certainly fits the bill. The romance of playing at Camp Nou, wearing the famous Blaugrana shirt, and competing in La Liga would be a dream scenario for most players.

However, Barcelona's well-documented financial difficulties make this one of the more complicated potential deals on this list. Newcastle's £75 million asking price is steep for a club still navigating Financial Fair Play constraints, and Barcelona would likely need to offload players before they could even consider meeting that valuation.

5. Manchester United

Manchester United might not be the first name that springs to mind, but the Red Devils are very much in the picture. Reports suggest United have been scouting Gordon extensively and are prepared to make an offer that could reach as high as €100 million. Under their evolving project, United are desperate to add genuine quality in wide areas, and Gordon represents exactly the type of young, English talent that could anchor the club's attack for years to come.
