US Open 2021 Quarterfinals Predictions:

2021 US open started on a pessimistic note as Defending Champion Dominic Thiem withdrew due to a wrist injury. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, two legends had already withdrawn. 

So the field was left open for Novak Djokovic to win his 21st grand slam and to edge past Federer and Nadal to earn the ultimate G.O.A.T title in Tennis by winning the 21st grand slam.

So the US open pinned its expectations from some sterling performance of aspiring Grand Slam title contenders like Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev, and Berrettini.

Stefanos Tsitsipas bit the dust against an 18-year-old, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia. Matteo Berrettini moved ahead but with a few hiccups.

Daniil Medvedev has yet to lose a set but still, he hasn't looked at his peak form.

Zverev is the one who has changed since he crushed Djokovic in Olympics. He has started hitting more topspin and sudden flat shots as match winners. Cincinnati masters, he was class apart and he won the masters with aplomb.

The silver lining has been the Nextgen players in Tennis like tall Oscar Otte of Germany, who as a qualifier stunned Sonego, Seppi, and Kundla.

Carlos Alcaraz, the 18-year-old Spanish sensation ousted Norrie in the first round, Tsitsipas in 3rd round, and probably he is one of the youngest quarterfinalists at the US Open.

A Netherland player B. van De Zandschulp, who has ousted Casper Ruud and Schwartzman to reach the quarter-finals.

Still, there is Harris of South Africa, who tamed Shapovalov to reach the quarter-final.

So quarterfinals will be full of surprises and the novelty factors will prevail in the proceedings.  The unknown element will make either the matches very interesting or one-sided.

So without further ado, let's look at my predictions for the US Open 2021 quarterfinals.

1. Daniil Medvedev (2) vs B. van de Zandschul

US Open 2021 Quarterfinals Predictions: Medvedev is playing very well and with his defensive approach the Russian can tame Zandschulp in 4 sets or straight sets.

2. Felix Auger Aliassime (12) vs Carlos Alcaraz Garfia

This match I am dying to see. Felix Aliassime is very solid, the way he defeated  Frances Tiafoe, his temperament was extraordinary.

Felix Auger Aliassime has all the shots, he is a percentage player and he will keep unforced errors to a bare minimum.

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has had a tremendous run but he has played 2 matches that lasted 5 sets so he will be tired.

US Open 2021 Quarterfinals Predictions: I expect Augur Alliasme to be in the semifinals. A proud moment for a quiet well-mannered Tennis player. Nice guys can win.

3. Alexander Zverev (4) vs Lloyd Harris

This is one quarterfinal, which I wish to see. Alexander Zverev is a tournament favorite for me due to his impeccable performance and on the other hand, is the giant killer of the Tournament.

L Harris is the no 1 player from South Africa. Harris wanted to be a golfer but good that he chose tennis.

He has scalped Khachanov in the first round(Olympics silver medalist), Shapovalov in 3rd round, and tall Reilly Opelka in the pre-quarters.

He is tall with good serve and all-round game. Two power hitters will resonate in the stadium.

US Open 2021 Quarterfinals Predictions: I expect Zverev to win in 4 sets.

4. Novak Djokovic (1) vs Matteo Berrettini

A repeat of Wimbledon finals at the quarter-final stage.

Matteo Berrettini has looked tired after a 5 set marathon against Ivashka which was not expected. In the pre-quarter-final Berrettini came on to his own by finishing the giant-killing run of Oscar Otte.

On the other hand, Novak Djokovic has looked quite patchy at the US Open. He lost a set to H. Rune, then Nishikori and he lost 1-6 to Brooksby in the pre-quarterfinals.

So this quarter-final will be one to watch. 

US Open 2021 Quarterfinals Predictions: I expect Djokovic to prevail in 4 sets but baseline duels will be a treat to watch.

So there are 3 unseeded players in Quarterfinals, a rarity. The new generation is coming of age and the next 10 years appear to be promising and exciting.
