Bundesliga Preview: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund | Head to Head Prediction

German giants Bayern Munich are on the cusp of the 10th consecutive Bundesliga title as they host arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena.

The two have been hot rivals for the last two years with the rivalry termed 'Der Klassiker', a German version of 'El Classico'.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side is on the verge of creating history as they would win a 10th consecutive Bundesliga title, if they beat Dortmund on Saturday (April 23). Dortmund can play the role of party spoilers if they can beat Bayern in their backyard.

Bayern vs Dortmund: Head to Head Record and Stats

Bayern hold an incredible head-to-head against Dortmund in recent times as they have won the last six encounters and will be eyeing the seventh heaven on Saturday.

The reverse fixture in December was yet another crunch encounter where Bayern edged Dortmund through a brace from former Dortmund man Robert Lewandowski.

The Pole scored a 77th-minute winner to pile more misery on the Black and Yellow army at the Signal Iduna Park. Astonishingly, in the last 10 Bundesliga encounters Dortmund have won only once, a 3-2 win in November 2018.

The last time Dortmund beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena was in April 2014, a 3-0 win against Pep Guardiola's side.

Player Analysis | Robert Lewandowski vs Erling Haaland

Robert Lewandowski

The Poland striker has been scoring for fun in the last few years and will certainly try to add to his tally against his former side. The 33-year-old has 45 goals this season for Bayern in all competitions, 32 of which have come in the Bundesliga.

Lewandowski is 12 clear of second-placed Patrik Schick in the race for the 'Kicker-Torjägerkanone', a cannon given to Bundesliga's top scorer.

Considered one of the best players in the world Lewandowski will try to score fifty goals in all competitions this season, as he needs just five more. He also has five assists in all competitions, three in the Champions League and two in Bundesliga.

Erling Haaland

The Norway striker is another bright prospect that has been attracting the world of football for quite a time. The third-highest top scorer in the Bundesliga, Haaland has 18 goals and will try to get closer to second place Schick.

A summer move to Manchester City has been taunted, but it remains to be seen how he responds. Haaland has three goals in the Champions League along with four in DFB Pokal. His overall play has helped Dortmund keep his position but has lacked support at times, considering the midfield options Dortmund has.

Both teams try to end the season on a high. With no  European football to trouble and top two spots all but secured for the sides, both teams can now focus on the summer as potential incomings and outgoings will be on cards.

Haaland has been tracked by Manchester City, while Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested in the deal. Bayern though will try to end the season on high with yet another title in their hands.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 3-1 Borussia Dortmund
