Manchester City keep their tabs on this Spanish sensation

Premier League champions Manchester City are plotting a move for Villarreal wonderkid Ivan Morante. However, Pep Guardiola could face a battle for the 19-year-old's signature from his former employers Barcelona who are also chasing his signature.

The teenager has been impressive for Villareal B this season and he looks close to a step up to the senior side really soon. It is only his first season for the B team after moving up this summer from the U19s.

The young Spaniard is tipped to become one of his country's best players in years to come and he already has attracted a long list of suitors. But, Barcelona and Manchester City are leading the chase for the youngster.

Manchester City will have big boots to fill in the summer with their skipper and club legend David Silva leaving with his contract expiry. And, it is being strongly claimed that Guardiola has identified the 19-year-old as the successor of the former World Cup winner.

Phil Foden is already a strong candidate the Cityzens have in midfield to deal with the void that will be created with Silva's departure but bagging the £6m-rated Morante would be seen as somewhat of a coup.

Manchester City are having a difficult season this time out as they trail runaway league leaders Liverpool by 14 points having played a game more than the Reds. And, it is therefore expected that it will be a very busy summer at the Etihad.

According to reports, Joao Cancelo could be leaving to join Premier League rivals Tottenham. The Portuguese full-back, 25, only joined Pep Guardiola's side from Juventus in the summer but has struggled for playing time.

But six months later, he is already being linked with a move away as Jose Mourinho looks to lure his countryman to North London. According to reports, Mourinho has personally spoken to Cancelo in an attempt to convince the right-back to join.

Spurs have struggled in defence this season and Serge Aurier has been one of the players who have disappointed the most. And, Cancelo is also keen on a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he is also desperate for more first-team action.
