The City was missing its main number nine, the Norwegian robot Erling Haaland. Everybody thought the City's going to miss Erling Haaland who scored more than 35 goals this season, but the blue crew took care of the goal-scoring duties as they score past four against Merseyside reds.

The game started with Salah silencing the crowd at Etihad by scoring a goal for Liverpool in the initial phase of the game. Just when Liverpool thought they had control over the game, City started spawning their clever moves in the final attacking third of the pitch.

It took very few minutes for City to level the terms. City scored a goal from the well-planned move of Kevin De Bruyne and Mahrez just to see the clinical finish of Julian Alvarez. Liverpool was still in the notion that they can still control the game and get back to win the game.

That's when City said you are not getting past it and scored three more goals. The City attacking trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Iikay Gundogan, and Jack Grealish bagged one goal each to make it a perfect night for Manchester City.

Manchester City right now is chasing Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season. They are also in contention to win Champions League and FA Cup. The injury of the key players hasn't affected City's performance this season with having a very good squad depth this season. This is also expected to be the last season for Guardiola as City manager and the recruitment of Haaland puts additional pressure on their shoulders to win silverware this season. Manchester City will once again expect City to win the Champions League as they are in the semi-finals of the competition once again this year and this time they would expect a different outcome at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is having their worst nightmare. They are struggling to get into the top four of the Premier League and they got knocked out of the rest of the competition this season. The seventh useful season of Jurgen Klopp really seems to be harsh for Liverpool.

Liverpool faces the stern test of Chelsea and Arsenal in their next two games. They will look to rejuvenate and regroup to play Champions League football next season.
