Darwin Nunez is set to become the most expensive Liverpool signing ever!!

Darwin Nunez: Liverpool Transfer

Darwin Nunez, Europe's most sought-after striker, has finally joined the Reds at Anfield from Portuguese giants, SL Benfica.

Both clubs are claimed to have negotiated an agreement of 75 million euros (£64 million), which might rise to 100 million euros (£85 million) with add-ons, and the deal has already been completed.

Many teams have expressed interest in acquiring the young Uruguayan striker, but the striker has his preferences, claiming that he wants to play in the Champions League.

As per speculations, the Reds' director, Julian Ward, was in Portugal early this morning to finalize the transfer since everything fell into place, as Darwin Nunez was eager to join Liverpool.

The Reds however are yet to announce the Benfica striker's signing on social media.

The striker will be presented to the Anfield faithful in the coming days, and he will have his medical on Monday. Darwin Nunez has agreed to a five-year deal with the club that would keep him with the club until 2028.

Once signed, the 22-year-old would become Liverpool's most expensive player, surpassing Virgil van Dijk's £75 million transfer from Southampton in January 2018.

Last season, Darwin Nunez scored 34 goals in 41 appearances for the Portugal club in all competitions.

He's already played 11 times for Uruguay. In 2021-22, the striker scored 26 goals in 28 league games, with 25 of those goals coming in 24 league games in which he played.

Nunez scored six goals in ten Champions League games last season, two of which came against Liverpool in their quarter-final ties in April.
