Under then-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who later became the Manchester United coach for a brief period, Haaland performed well, and the coach during his tenure at the Red Devils also recommended for his signing. The recommendation couldn’t go through but instead, he signed for the German giants Borussia Dortmund.

The Norwegian has not just joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for 60 million euros when his release clause was triggered. He was essential to the Black and Yellow's success as well with some fabulous form there. Scoring a staggering 86 goals in a mere 89 appearances with a total of 17 assists he managed a goal involvement in every match he played.

Haaland was bought from Redbull Salzburg from Austria for 20 million euros after his exceptional display for them, not to mention his game vs Liverpool that caught the eye of the black and yellows. Scoring a total of 25 goals in 27 appearances he landed onto the European stage in some style and hasn’t stopped yet.

His record for the U-19s is pretty much an eye-catching one with 9 goals in 3 matches, he scored all the goals in a single match at the under-20 World Cup vs Honduras. So far for the Norway first team he has had 14 caps he has amassed 11 goals already and is hunting for more. A striker of his capability would certainly be hoping to perform at his level best for his team to have a name in the European Competitions.

  • Netherlands legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy is the current holder to reach the 40-goal mark in the Champions League in just 45 games. He has 35 in 32 at present and might need a mere 5 in 13.
  • Haaland can break the record for the most hattricks in a single season. He currently has 4 but can match the tally of 5 held by Alan Shearer.
  • He can achieve the feat of Cristiano Ronaldo of scoring a total of 17 goals in a Champions League season. Haaland is on 12.
  • Dixie Deans's amazing record of 63 goals in the English top flight is a record nobody was able to break for the past 96 years. Haaland with his goal-scoring spree was able to score 52 last time out and if stays in good form and shape, we might see a long-standing record getting broken again.

With time for legendary players like assists and Lionel Messi coming to an end, there must be players that can act as an heir to them. Haaland should certainly be considered one of them with him already at the age of 23 breaking the records that took a long to be made. Standing at 1.94 meters tall and with a strong masculine physique, the striker has all the ability to become the best striker on the planet, and in the coming years, we might be able to witness that.
