West Ham United keep their tabs on £20m rated French forward

Premier League strugglers West Ham United are leading the race for French striker Serhou Guirassy and can seal the £20 million deal soon.

The Hammers have been tracking the Amiens forward for months and now his club are willing to cash in on him shortly.

Amiens fear that they will be relegated and are willing to sort out a fee for the summer window, tie up the move and make their own planning for the future.

Officials from the French club were in London last week for meetings and hope to finalize the switch as soon as possible.

Brighton have also been watching Guirassy and saw him score two and create a couple more in their draw with PSG last weekend.

Spurs were also at the game as they look for long time cover for Harry Kane.

However, it is believed that Guirassy would prefer to be a starter in the Premier League and therefore would not fancy a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Guirassy would have a much realistic chance of getting into the starting lineup ahead of Sebastian Haller next season if the Frenchman stays at the club.

Haller has been a massive flop at the Olympic Stadium and could be sold in the summer or relegated to the bench.

Meanwhile, West Ham are checking on young Gillingham centre half John Tucker.

Hammers scouts are highly impressed with 20-year-old Tucker who is a big part of the Kent side’s recent storming run.

Gillingham slapped Tucker on a new deal recently but would still be open for a sale if the right offer comes in at the end of the season.

Tucker has also been tracked by Aston Villa this season and is tipped for an England under-21 call up.

The Hammers turn their attention to the daunting task of facing Liverpool at Anfield on Monday as they fight to save their Premier League status.

After Aston Villa and Bournemouth both lost yesterday, David Moyes and his side are still only one point from safety.

Moyes was heavily criticised for his team selection during their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday so changes are expected for the match against the unbeaten runaway leaders.
