Juventus to battle Bayern for the signing of German international

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly interested in a summer move for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.

The German international has not played this season due to a serious injury. However, his stock remains as high as ever as a host of clubs across Europe are believed to be monitoring his situation with the Cityzens.

It is understood that the German international was close to leaving the Etihad in the summer. However, he suffered an injury that made the move collapse.

German champions Bayern Munich were believed to be the front-runners for the 24-year-old last summer. The Bavarians missed out on him in 2016 when he moved to Manchester City from Schalke for £37 million.

Bayern will be frustrated with the fact that Juventus have also registered their interest in the 24-year-old. The Bianconeri want to pair him up with Cristiano Ronaldo up front at Juventus Stadium.

The Italian giants are said to have been monitoring Sane's recovery and will decide in the summer whether to make a bid.

Sane has made 134 appearances for Manchester City till date while finding the back of the net 39 times.

And, he has been missed big-time by Pep Guardiola this season as the Citizens trail Liverpool by 22 points in the title race.

Despite Manchester City enjoying  a great success in England, Sane wanted out of the club last summer as he wanted more first-team opportunities which he failed to get at Etihad.

Bayern were close to capturing the 24-year-old's signature before he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the Community Shield win over Liverpool.

As a result, they were forced to look elsewhere for new wide-men following the exits of legendary duo of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was another target of the Bavarians but he eventually stayed at Chelsea before signing a new contract.

Bayern ended up landing both Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona and Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan on loan. However, both have failed to make too much of an impression at Allianz Arena.
