Three Players Chelsea Could Look To Sign In January, Once The Transfer Ban Is Lifted

Reports in England claim that the transfer ban imposed on Chelsea by FIFA could be lifted ahead of the winter transfer window.

It will certainly be music to the ears for the Chelsea fans as well as the the club's management. The Blues were handed a two-window transfer ban by FIFA following a probe into their recruitment of foreign players under the age of 18.

However, the Blues' legal team is confident that they can get the transfer ban overturned before January and the club can once again sign players in the winter transfer window.

With the ban likely to get lifted, we can expect a busy transfer window at Stamford Bridge. In this article, we will name three players Chelsea should target during January in order to strengthen their squad.

3. Suso

Chelsea are reportedly looking for a new winger, with Willian likely to leave next summer on a free transfer. The Brazilian has not signed a contract extension at Stamford Bridge and could even be sold in January for the right money.

Former Liverpool star Suso has been long-linked with a move to Chelsea since Antonio Conte was in charge of the Blues. With AC Milan still struggling, Suso could definitely be on the move.

Suso suits Lampard's style of play and would add more creativity and edge in the Chelsea attack with his eye for a pass and ability to find the back of the net.

2. Ben Chilwell

One of the areas Chelsea have struggled on a regular basis in recent years is the left-back position and Ben Chilwell, a long target of the Blues, can put an end to that.

Marcus Alonso is a menace going forward but leaves plenty to be desired defensively while Emerson Palmeri is inconsistent and injury-prone.

Chilwell has progressed into one of the best left-backs in the league in recent years and would be a great addition to Chelsea. However, with Leicester flying high, it will tough to make this move happen.

1. Callum Wilson

Callum Wilson has been one of the best forwards in the Premier League in recent seasons. The 27-year-old certainly has done enough to get his chance in a big team.

Chelsea will be the gainers if they can land Callum Wilson from Bournemouth in order to bring more firepower to their attack. He is a proven performer in the league and has plenty of experience as well.

Plus, Wilson is also an English player and goes well with Frank Lampard's philosophy of signing home-grown players.
