Quique Setien plotting reunion with former player after striker crisis

Things have not been well at the Camp Nou since the latest 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals. With forwards Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele out injured, the Blaugrana are in severe pressure to land a striker as soon as possible

According to Marca, Barcelona are looking to sign Real Betis Striker Leon Moron as a result of the injury crisis. With the transfer window shut, they can only sign players who ply their trade in the Spanish League.

It was also rumored that Valencia Striker Rodrigo was seen as a potential target but Barcelona's boss Quique Setien had other ideas in his mind as he looks to reunite with his former player. The club committed a blunder in the transfer market as they sold off promising players Carles Alena and Abel Ruiz with an expectation of signing a prime striker.

Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was approached as a long term replacement but a move failed to materialise as the Gabon International had no intention of leaving the Emirates for now.

Leon Moron has scored 21 goals for Betis this season and this has caught the eye of the Cules who are in a desperate situation to add more firepower. Antoinne Griezmann has not been in his best and the board are looking to find a solution for the problem they've been facing.

The recent spat between Lionel Messi and Eric Abidal has heightened the tension even further. Barcelona could go trophyless this season as they have lost out two title chances already in the Supercopa De Espana and the Copa Del Rey. In La Liga, they are three points behind Rivals Real Madrid and this is a clear sign that the club is in a worse situation than ever.

Considering the skillset, Leon Moron could be a perfect 'emergency' option for the club and they are trying to pay atleast half of his 60 million Euro release clause.
