Champions League review: Matchday 3

Group - A

Manchester United- H vs FC Copenhagen - A

Time - 12:30 am

Both Manchester United and FC Copenhagen are coming from wins in their last matches against Sheffield United and Vejle respectively. It could be a good encounter at the beginning of match day 3 of the UEFA Champions League where the Red Devils striker Rasmus Hojlund will be up against his dream club and will be hoping to score.

Lens - H vs PSV - A

RC Lens host PSV in what could be a mouth-watering clash between the group toppers versus the team at the bottom of group B during the Champions League. Lens is coming on from a draw against Le Havre in League 1 as PSV are continuing their food form in Eredivisie with a 3-1 win over Fortunata. PSV will be without their star striker Noa Lang which will be a devastating loss for them.

Sevilla - H vs Arsenal - A

Time - 12:30

Second-place Arsenal is up against Spanish giants Sevilla in the Champions League. Arsenal haven’t had the best start in their Champions League campaign after their loss to Lens last time out and will be hoping to bounce back to ensure a first-place finish after match day 3. Sevilla put in a dominant performance vs Real Madrid to draw 1-1 in La Liga and will be hoping to continue their good run.

1. FC Union Berlin - H vs Napoli - A

Union Berlin is in their first ever Champions League campaign in the history of the club. They have been good in the league so far out but haven’t done well in the Champions League with two losses in two and are up against an in-form Napoli who are visiting them after defeating Hellas Verona. Union Berlin would be relieved to see Victor Osimhen sitting out as he suffered an injury.

Real Madrid will be hosted by Braga in Portugal at one of the most unique Venues of all time. The Home stadium of Braga is carved out of a mountain and is one of a kind in the world. Braga continues to their fine form and is coming on from a 2-0 win over Rebordosa whereas Real Madrid is coming on from a league draw versus a lackluster Sevilla.

Benfica – H vs Real Sociedad – A

Two top teams clashing on Wednesday midnight from Portugal and Spain respectively in the Champions League outing. Both the teams have had a good run of forms in their leagues but are on the opposite poles when seen in the group rankings. Benfica would be hoping to secure their first win in the group stage as Real Sociedad will be fighting to keep their place in the number one spot in the group.

Feyenoord - H vs Lazio - A

Feyenoord has become one of the strongest teams in Eredivisie right now. Coming on from a 4-0 win over Vitesse they will most likely be facing Italian side Lazio without their star man Santiago Giminez. Lazio also faced Sassuolo at the weekend and won 2-0. They’d be hoping their frontman Ciro Immobile starts showing what he is capable of and scores against Feyenoord.

Barcelona - H vs Shakhtar Donetsk

A much transformed and young Barcelona side will be up against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League night out. Managing an average age of 25.4 the Young Barcelona side are fighting their way through in the league to defend their crown. With additions like Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo proving to be excellent, they’d be hoping to take an easy win at Shakhtar.
