Croatia

"Fiery" before the start of the tournament were considered the main favorite of the quintet, but in the first round, they lost points. In the home battle with Wales, the Croats painted the world. Andrey Kramaric in the 28th minute brought the "checkers" forward. But in the stoppage time by the referee, the Dragons restored parity. After that, the wards of Zlatko Dalic went to Bursa, where they defeated a dry Turkey thanks to Mateo Kovacic's double. As a result, Luka Modric and partners concede the first line to the Welsh lagging behind only in additional indicators.

The "checkers" have a good line-up, which is able to resolve the issue of leaving the group. Ahead of the "flaming" a lot of games and getting ahead of Wales and Turkey, the Croats may well. So the likelihood that the "fiery" will break through is very high.

Turkey

"Moon Stars" beat Armenia in the first round in a bitter struggle. Having conceded first, the Turks responded with accurate shots from Orkun Kekcu and Kerem Akturkoglu. Then the guys of Stefan Kuntz in the home confrontation lost dry to Croatia - 0:2. As a result, after two fights, Türkiye is located on the third line. Yielding to the second Croats and the first Welsh by one point, Hakan Calhanoglu and partners, who were lower than the Armenians and Latvians, were ahead by three points.

The Turks have a good squad, but in terms of play, this national team continues to act unstably. Based on the home battle with the “checkers”, the “moon stars” are unlikely to be able to compete with the Croats, but the team is quite capable of competing for the second line with Wales. Turkey's entire struggle is yet to come.

Wales

"Dragons" can record the start of the selection as an asset. After a miraculous rescue from defeat in Split, in the second round the Welsh, though minimally, but defeated Latvia. The only goal in that match was scored by Kieffer Moore in the 41st minute. At the same time, in statistical terms, Aaron Ramsey and partners looked a cut above. A draw with one of the favorites and a victory over the outsider of the quintet allowed the Red-Whites, at least until the summer, to be in the first place.

Wales has a strong line-up without any special stars. A good start is good, but it can be more difficult for the Dragons. Nevertheless, the Welsh are quite able to get into the final part of the European Championship 2024 (Euro Cup).

Armenia

The Armenians played only once in the March segment and were defeated in Yerevan by Turkey. At the same time, the wards of Alexander Petrakov were able to impose a fight. Already on the 10th minute, Varazdat Haroyan and company took the lead after Ozan Kabak's own goal. However, the "red-white-blue-yellows" could not keep the advantage and lost by one goal. After that, in a friendly sparring with Cyprus, Armenia painted the world with a score of 2:2.

There are many competitive players in the Armenian national team. At the same time, the Armenians will objectively not be able to impose a struggle on the Turks, Croats, and Welsh for getting into the top three.

Latvia

The Red-White-Reds played one official match in the spring season. In Cardiff, the guys of Dainis Kazakevich fought but lost minimally to Wales. It is worth noting that "11 Wolves" were able to deliver three shots to the "Dragons" goal, but none of them ended up in the goal net. In general, the result for the Latvians is negative, but in terms of play the team looked good.

Latvia is considered the main outsider of the “D” sextet and the main task of the “red-white-reds” will most likely not be at the bottom of the standings. It is unlikely that they will be able to impose a struggle on the three main contenders for leaving the group of "11 wolves".

Our forecast

Latvia and Armenia are inferior to other rivals from the sextet in the game plan. So don't expect a lot of points from Latvians and Armenians. Wales and Turkey are likely to compete for second place, while Croatia will improve during the tournament and take first place. In the fight between "dragons" and "moon stars", the Welsh should be preferred due to greater stability.
