Nick Kyrgios vs Rafael Nadal: H2H Analysis

At 27, Kyrgios has reached his first Grand Slam final and his numbers speak volumes. The Aussies star has racked up an astonishing 120 aces in the match, most by any player in the tournament.

Overall Kyrgios has played in five tiebreaks and has won on four occasions, showing his superiority with his serve. Surprisingly, Kyrgios was on his way out of the tournament in the first round but prevailed in five sets.

Nadal has been struggling with a groin issue and used a medical timeout in the match against Fritz. In a five-set encounter against Fritz, Nadal was stretched for more than four hours and won the contest.

While his presence in the semifinal remains unclear, Rafa still has impressive numbers at the Wimbledon 2022, having won more than 600 points and both the tiebreaks. The double faults are somewhere, Nadal will have to improve as he has ended up with 20 so far.

Nick Kyrgios vs Rafael Nadal: Wimbledon 2022 Journey

Nick Kyrgios

It has been a roller-coaster ride for unseeded Kyrgios so far in the tournament and will need to be at his best against the Spaniard.

After winning against Paul Jubb in five sets in the opening round, Kyrgios has followed that with wins against Filip Krajinovic in three sets and then against fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in a grueling four sets by winning 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6.

It again took five sets for Kyrgios to get past Brandon Nakashima before booking a place in the semifinal against Nadal by beating Cristian Garin in the quarterfinal.

Rafael Nadal

In a breathing quarterfinal match against Fritz, Nadal won in five sets and will be bidding for a place in his sixth Wimbledon final. Nadal oversaw a win over Francisco Cerundolo and Ricardas Berankis in the first two rounds, both of which lasted for four sets.

Nadal’s only other tiebreak occasion came against Botic van de Zandschulp in the fourth round where he emerged victorious in straight sets. Nadal also won in straight sets against Ricardas Berankis in the third round.
