Bayern Munich 2019-20 Season Review and Standout Performances

Treble-winning season for the Bavarians:

We all can agree 2019/20 was Bayern Munich's year; it was a memorable year for the Bavarians. The team was phenomenal during the year. From winning the UCL to Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, Bayern became the second team after Barcelona to win the Treble twice

Bayern was fascinating in every match with a watertight defence, high pressing midfielders, and a world-class striker; they played like there is no tomorrow. 

Bayern was overly dominating against their opponent, one of those big matches in UCL when Bayern crushed Tottenham 7-2 in the group stage and Barcelona 8-2 in the quarterfinal. 

The Bavarians players had one of the finest seasons; their striker Lewandowski was mesmerizing; he was in the limelight of every match the Bayern's goal-scoring machine. 

Stellar Individual Performances:

Robert Lewandowski could have won FIFA Ballon'dor if it was not for covid-19; he won the FIFA Best Player of the Year award and claimed the golden boot for being the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga. 

The team saw some energetic young talents making their way into the team. Alphonso Davies, the 20-year-old left-back, had an incredible season.

The young talent made a good impression among his teammates and coach; Serge Gnabry made a positive impact on the team, proving his worth in the starting XI; the duo had a remarkable season.

During the off-season Bayern signed few excellent players and World Cup winners, Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, and Barcelona star Coutinho. 

Bayern had a relatively slow start to the 2019-20 season they did not perform well in few matches, but slowly they got the grip and returned to their winning ways in the league, along with Bayern Lewandowski was rampant, scoring in every game. 

The Poland captain then made history in November, becoming the first Bundesliga player ever to score in the campaign’s opening nine games. 

The record-breaking goal which came in a 2-1 win over Union Berlin, he took his league goals tally for the year to 13; on the other hand, Barcelona star Coutinho finally ended his goal drought by scoring in Bayern's jersey. 

The Brazilian star scored his first hattrick against Hertha Berlin, playing like a valiant in every match, Bayern claimed their top spot in the league and secured their first trophy of the season. 

Champions League Journey:

Bayern Munich's Champions League journey was stunning, losing only one game in the entire campaign; they showed no remorse against their opponents, thrashing big teams like Barcelona, Tottenham, and Chelsea in the process.

The team's high pressing made them more dominant in the Champions League; they were the best team to play in the tournament.

After seven years, the Bavarians finally lifted their 6th Champions League trophy in Lisbon. It was not only the team but the star players who won various FIFA awards. 

The all-time star player Robert Lewandowski was exceptional in the 2019/20 season. Bayern indeed had an excellent season after their 2012-13 season where they won the treble as well.
