Chicago Smash vs Orlando Storm: World TeamTennis Preview and Prediction

An exciting clash is in store as Chicago Smash take on Orlando Storm tonight. With just one loss so far and sitting pretty at the second spot in the table, Chicago has been functioning like a well-oiled unit.

On the other hand, Orlando has had mixed fortunes with three wins and an equal number of losses in their campaign.

Coming off a close win against the New York Empire in their previous match, Chicago would be reeling with high confidence.

They have a strong chance in winning the women's doubles with the experienced pair of Eugenie Bouchard and Bethanie Mattek-Sands winning all their matches so far.

Orlando's Darija Jurak and Jessica Pegula would be keen to put their narrow loss yesterday against Orange County Breakers behind.

Despite defeating the legendary Bryan brothers in their first match, the American pair of Rajeev Ram and Brandon Nakashima would have to pull up their socks having lost their last two encounters. Chicago can try out the experienced Evan King instead. They will have a tough task at hand against the formidable Tennys Sandgren and Ken Skupski.

The women's singles match is expected to be a close contest as 2017 US Open champion, Sloane Stephens takes on either Danielle Collins or Jessica Pegula. Both Stephens and Collins are coming to this clash with losses to comeback queen, Kim Clijsters. Pegula is not in her best form too with a loss against Christina McHale in her previous match.

Nakashima would be oozing with confidence having won his last two singles matches. He will have to play his best tennis against Sandgren who is coming to this clash with a three-match losing streak.

Sandgren would have to get some motivation having defeated Nakashima when they played each other five days ago.

With their massive experience, Ram and Mattek-Sands would look to take Chicago home by overcoming the challenge posed by Skupski and Pegula in the mixed doubles.

A win for Chicago could see them topping the table while Orlando would look to upset their plans and take a step forward to the knock-outs.
